Our Favorite Children's Farm Books

2020-03-18 12.34.45 1.jpg

This week has been crazy and unpredictable. And a lot of us are finding ourselves at home with our children while schools are out. Since we are all looking for things to do and keep ourselves and our little ones busy, I thought I would share our favorite children's books that highlight farming and dairy. These are some of my girls' favorite books! Plus they all share a little bit about farm life. You can find three of them on Amazon here and one here. And then I shared a little bit more about them below!

Children's Books

  1. Farm Nursery Songs by Jessica Peters

This one is a book filled with classic nursery rhythms, but with amazing farm lyrics. These songs were written by an actual dairy farmer Jessica Peters which is pretty awesome! You can find her on Instagram here. This is the book my girls request every.single.night. before bed. They have whole dance routines played for each song. It's pretty fun to watch! I will also be giving away a free copy on my Instagram account! Head over to my page to learn more.

2. Chuck's Ice Cream Wish Tales of the Dairy Godmother

This book was put together by the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Ag. Its release date was yesterday (March 17). It is a great story about all the hard work that goes into making one scoop of ice cream. It shows children exactly what has to be done on a dairy farm to take care of the cows and how to milk the cows. In the back of the book it has some great resources and websites where you can learn more. It also shares an amazing homemade ice cream recipe! I will also be giving away a free copy of this one over on my Instagram account.

3. Baby's Very First Slide and See Farm

This book is a great board book from Usborne Books. What I love about it is that the milking machines actually look like real milking machines! This book is perfect for children under two since its a board book with great slide and see activities. 4. The Calf on my FarmWe love this beautiful book about life on a farm raising a calf. Throughout this book, the author shares amazing facts about dairy farming, agriculture and more! And in the back of the book, we had the opportunity to share some of our photos and a little bit about life on our farm.I hope you all love these books as much as we do!
